FIELD: working by cutting, turning operations, grooving, cutting off and threading operations.
SUBSTANCE: metal cutting tool includes holder and cutting tip having rotation symmetry axis passing lateral surfaces; large number of supporting portions, each portion is arranged in part of side of virtual regular polygon; large number of cutting portions arranged outside said virtual polygon. Number of cutting portions is equal to that of lateral sides of virtual polygon. In order to enlarge manufacturing possibilities, each cutting portion includes cutting edge. Each supporting portion is arranged between two cutting portions. Holder has seat for tip where said cutting tip is mounted only according to two supporting portions. Seat is restricted by lower supporting wall engaged with first supporting portion and by upper supporting wall engaged with second supporting portion. Position of lower supporting wall and upper supporting wall is fixed relative to holder. Said walls are formed as one piece with holder and they are inclined one relative to other by acute angle.
EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of tool.
