FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: centrifugal separator is used for cleaning exhaust gases of internal combustion engine in its crankcase. Centrifugal separator has rotor made for rotation by electric motor and sucking crankcase gases in process of rotation into centrifugal separator through channel. With internal combustion engine operating, parameter, for instance, engine load is measured, value of said parameter being related to amount of crankcase gases generated in crankcase in time unit. Depending on change of measured parameter, speed of rotor of centrifugal separator is changed so that pressure of gases in crankcase is maintained at preset level or within preset pressure range at operation of internal combustion engine. Invention contains description of devised for implementing the method.

EFFECT: provision of effective cleaning of crankcase gases.
