SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a centrifugal separator for cleaning of gas containing oil primarily for cleaning crankcase gases from an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine. Centrifugal separator comprises a stationary casing defining a separation space and having a first end and an opposite second end portion, wherein the stationary housing has an inner wall surface facing towards the separation space, an inlet passage extending to the separation space and forming the inlet for gas to be cleaned, the centrifugal rotor, which is provided in the separation space and extends from the first end to the second end portion, wherein the centrifugal rotor includes a spindle and a plurality of separating discs held by the spindle. Separator also includes a drive element provided for rotation of the centrifugal rotor in a rotational direction about a rotational axis to create rotary gas volume, whereby the oil is separated from the gas by centrifugal force, a gas outlet duct for discharging purified gas from the separation space, the oil outlet for release oil from the separation space and the oil supply device. Oil supply device adapted to supply an amount of oil in the separation space that current oil film produced at the surface of the inner wall during operation of the centrifugal separator.

EFFECT: technical result is a reduction in the accumulation of viscous separation space of the centrifugal separator, particularly at the inner wall surface of the housing of the centrifugal separator.
