FIELD: oil and gas extractive industry, possible use for conducting monitoring of hydraulic fracturing of a formation.
SUBSTANCE: during conduction of hydraulic fracturing of formation or after it, pressure impulses with amplitude sufficient for opening shifting fracture are injected into the well being processed. Appearing seismic signals from acoustic events, connected to opening of shifting fractures, are recorded by means of seismic receivers positioned adjacently to the well being processed. Boundaries of crack surface are identified on basis of position of shifting fractures.
EFFECT: increased precision when detecting the location of the fracture.
