FIELD: machine engineering, possibly abrasive-diamond working of blanks of screws and other parts such as shafts of steels and alloys by means of multi-member spring tool.
SUBSTANCE: tool for performing the method includes abrasive-diamond containing members in the form at least of two helical springs twisted in U-shape and embracing worked blank. Said helical springs are jointly mounted on brackets of housing with possibility of rotation around their own lengthwise axis and they are arranged diametrically opposite relative to cross plane of blank. Blank such as body of revolution is imparted to rotation and tool is imparted to lengthwise feed. Necessary working efforts are created while providing radial feed of helical springs by means of their tightening units.
EFFECT: improved quality and efficiency of working due to increased contact spot of helical springs with worked surface, possibility for using large feed values and controlling working efforts at using simple-design tool.
