FIELD: transport engineering; seat belts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to energy-absorbing devices with limited displacement of passenger body and they can be used in seat belts C of any models. Proposed device contains laminated plate 2 attached to housing B of seat belt tension adjuster and featuring preset strength and deformation characteristics in cold state. Said plate 2 is provided with preset number of folds 3 arranged in parallel and running in cross direction relative to longitudinal axis of plate. Folds 3 gradually straighten out under action of preset traction force appearing in case of grave collision or abrupt braking of vehicle, thus gradually increasing length of said plate 2. Device contains additional wire-type member 4 installed on housing of seat belt tension adjuster R featuring preset strength and deformation characteristics in cold state and provided with preset number of coils 5 which uncoil in case of grave collision or abrupt braking of vehicle thus gradually increasing length of said member 4.
EFFECT: improved safety of passenger in road accidents.
