FIELD: ultrasonic inspection of materials.
SUBSTANCE: radiator radiates ultrasonic oscillation pulses. Receiver receives pulse after they passed sample. Speed of propagation of pulses is measured as well as decay factor of ultrasonic oscillations. After model (1) is subject to parametric identification, meanings of m and n factors are determined, which factors differ for any brand of polymer. Limit of break strength is calculated on base of measured parameters from formula , where σ is rupture strength, kgs/cm2; ρ is polymer density, kg/cm3; h is thickness of sample, cm; c is speed of sound, cm/s; α is ultrasound decay factor, cm-1, ω is ultrasonic oscillation frequency, s-1.
EFFECT: improved truth of results; improved precision.
