FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, arc plasmatrons with axial injection of powder for spraying metallic and non-metallic protective covers onto products.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the invention, spraying plasmatron consists of cathode 1 and anode 2 units, divided by isolation insert 3. The anode unit 2 contains water-cooled nozzle-anode 4, packed by two rubber rings 5. The cathode unit 1 contains air-cooled cathode 6 with thermo-chemical cathode insert 7, which is fastened on the end of cathode holding pipe socket 8, into central channel 9 of which swirler 10 is inserted. For axial injection of air and powder mixture into arc discharge column, on the end of air-cooled cathode 6 powder channels 11 are made, which are positioned around the thermo-chemical cathode insert 7 at a sharp angle to its axis.
EFFECT: reduced erosion of materials of anode and cathode, increased operational resource of plasmatron, increased quality of protective covers.
