FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves transferring papillary fingerprint image to optical reader device surface, determining start time of finger application and papillary fingerprint formation end time moment. Papillary fingerprint formation is carried out by applying finger to optical surface of reader device and following frame-by-frame adjustment of optical distortions of produced papillary fingerprint images. Finger application start time is determined by fixing background, estimating fingerprint image area change dynamics and evaluating new frame for fingerprint image availability. Then final time is determined defining finish in obtaining fingerprint image fixed as fact of image capture being accomplished. Next, background is withdrawn from the produced image and the image is normalized relative to background.
EFFECT: high quality of initial image; high image-capturing speed.
