FIELD: computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method involves building finger-print passport by selecting informative and non-informative zones, papillary lines and specific items in informative zone regions, numbering the specific items, determining coordinates and direction vector, characteristic type and scale of each specific item on papillary pattern image. Each papillary pattern imprint is subjected to additional coding concurrently with finger-print passport creation. Papillary line directions field is built by applying multiple mathematical finger-print image processing with projection-dispersion filter and next with modified median filter. Characteristic points are found and their types and coordinates are determined and used as centers for executing additional spatial wave filtration after Gabor. Characteristic digital values describing a finger-print image are calculated by applying the spatial wave filtration after Gabor in the vicinity of each detected characteristic point. The encoded papillary pattern imprint data are saved for following recognition.
