METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING THE BELONGING OF FINGERPRINT TO ALIVE OR DEAD PERSON Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B5/117 G06K9/36

Abstract RU 2309672 C2

FIELD: medicine, forensic medicine, criminalistics.

SUBSTANCE: the suggested method helps to establish the fact if a fingerprint presented for identification belongs to alive person; the user should be registered due to obtaining a fingerprint, forming a passport of papillary pattern including digitizing and digital coding of fingerprint's picture and keeping the data of papillary pattern. Simultaneously with forming the passport it is necessary to fulfill additional coding dealing with mathematical treatment of digitized fingerprint's picture to present it as mathematical function the type of which is characteristic and which has got characteristic points. The values of mathematical function in characteristic points should be applied for detecting the criterion of fingerprint's belonging to either alive or dead person. As mathematical function one should apply reduced autocorrelation function (RAF), and for detecting the criterion it is necessary to calculate the difference between the value of the second local RAF maximum and minimum. The innovation enables to simplify the technique for identifying the fingerprint's belonging to alive or dead person, increase quickness and significance of identification results and decrease expenses for technical means.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
