FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: mold includes sleeve made of copper or copper alloys. Cross section of sleeve at side of metal feed is increased in comparison with cross section at blank outlet. Geometry of sleeve cross section and respective sizes of sleeve correspond to solidification heat quantity removed in given place at selected rate of casting and also correspond to thermal expansion of sleeve.
EFFECT: improved quality of blanks at high casting rates.
