FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely porous nickel producing, possibly manufacture of air and liquid filters, base of neutralizers, electrodes, built-up members of catalysts and catalyst carriers.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing charge of powders of phenol formaldehyde resin and nickel nitrate as thermally instable component while taking for each 100 mass. p. of phenol formaldehyde resin powder 380 - 420 mass. p. of nickel nitrate powder; preliminarily separately disintegrating powders of charge components till particle size no more than 200 micrometers; placing mixture into cell of thermally stable material with low heat conductance; performing local initiation of process of resin burning by means of short heat impulse while steadily removing gaseous products formed at burning process.
EFFECT: high degree of three-dimensional resolution of structure, increased porosity and specific surface.
