FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: charge for composite cathode contains the following, wt %: TiAl3 20.0-60.0; titanium is the rest; at that, dispersability of initial powders is 50-125 mcm. New composite cathodes are obtained from charge by pressing workpieces of the required shape and dimensions and further sintering in vacuum.
EFFECT: obtained cathodes have homogeneous structure with fine porosity, hold their initial shape, require no further heat treatment and machining and are suitable for being used in equipment for application of ion-plasma coatings.
