FIELD: processing of hydrocarbons.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises thermal decomposing of waste in a steam-gas fluid, separating the decomposition products into solid and gas ones, treating waste in a reactor by means of direct thermal effect on the waste with a source of infrared radiation in a water vapor fluid flowing with a rate of 0.01-3.5 m3/min and/or gas with producing solid carbon, liquid and gas fractions of the waste to be treated. The device comprises heat insulated reactor and a source of radiation mounted vertically. The radiation source is made of an infrared radiation source mounted at the center of the reactor or along its central axis. The perforated pipeline with changeable geometry is mounted at a distance of 30-1000 mm from the source of radiation. The ratio of the inlet diameter to the outlet diameter of the pipeline ranges from 1/1.1-1/10.
