METHOD TO INSTALL PROFILED SHUTTER INSIDE WELL Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC E21B29/10 

FIELD: oil production, particularly methods to isolate troublesome zones during well drilling and well repair with the use of shutters made of profiled casing pipes.

SUBSTANCE: method involves threadedly connecting cylindrical end parts of profiled pipe sections provided with corresponding inner and outer threads; lowering connected sections in well and extending thereof in radial direction along with following mechanical end parts expansion to provide end part dimension equal to well diameter. Annular groove is made in central part of outer thread before profiled pipe section connection so that the groove is opposite to inner bulge made in end part. Annular recess is created in central part of inner thread formed in another profile pipe section. As pipe sections are connected with each other the annular recess may be aligned with annular groove. Before connected end part expansion inner bulge is pressed in said annular groove and in annular recess.

EFFECT: increased operational shutter reliability due to improved threaded connection security.
