FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out visometry examination to determine spherical and cylindrical components of clinical refraction and clinical refraction spheroequivalent is calculated. Keratotopography is applied for excluding anterior cornea surface irregularities. Aberrometry is applied for determining initial aberrations of higher orders. Mean square deviation of real patient front from the ideal one caused aberrations from 3 to 6 order (RMS (Z3 ±1 - Z6 ±6)). If clinical refraction spheroequivalent is in the range of 6.25-9.0 Dpt, no local anterior cornea surface irregularities are available, and RMS (Z3 ±1 - Z6 ±6) is equal to 0.11-0.32 mcm irrespective of spherical aberration of the fourth order (Z4 0), excimer laser myopia and myopic astigmatism correction is indicated, including elimination of spherical and cylindrical components of clinical refraction. The same clinical refraction spheroequivalent values and no local anterior cornea surface irregularities being the case, RMS (Z3 ±1 - Z6 ±6) being greater than 0.32 mcm and spherical aberration of the fourth order (Z4 0) being less than -0.05 mcm, excimer laser myopia and myopic astigmatism correction is also indicated, including elimination of spherical and cylindrical components of clinical refraction. Clinical refraction spheroequivalent values being within the same range of 6.25-9.0 Dpt, and no local anterior cornea surface irregularities being detected, RMS (Z3 ±1 - Z6 ±6) being greater than 0.32 mcm and spherical aberration of the fourth order (Z4 0) being greater than -0.05 mcm, excimer laser myopia and myopic astigmatism correction are indicated, including elimination of spherical and cylindrical components of clinical refraction and elimination of total aberrations of eye wave front and aspheric cornea ablation are indicated.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; reduced frequency and intensity of halo and radiation around light sources in the twilight and ghosting manifestations.
