METHOD OF DIFFERENTIATED APPROACH TO CONTACT CORRECTION OF IRREGULAR ASTIGMATISM Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2693452 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Method of differentiated approach to contact correction of irregular astigmatism involves selection of soft or rigid contact lenses from gas permeable materials. If observing astigmatism and lachrymal dysfunction, selective selection of contact lenses is made, namely, with astigmatism up to 2.75 dpt, value of keratotopographic indices according to data of keratotopography SRI less than 1.0 and SAI less than 0.5, Schirmer-I tests ≥ 15 mm, Norn ≥ 10 s are used to select soft contact lenses from kit intended for correction of keratoconus. If irregular astigmatism is 3.0 to 4.5 dpt, keratotopographic indices according to keratotopography SRI more than 1.0 and SAI more than 0.5, Schirmer-I tests 10–15 mm, Norn test 8–10 s, individual rigid day gas permeable corneal contact lenses. If irregular astigmatism exceeds 4.75 dpt, keratotopographic indices according to keratotopography SRI more than 1.0 and SAI more than 0.5, Schirmer-I test < 10 mm, Norn test < 8 s, selection of rigid gas permeable scleral contact lenses.

EFFECT: use of the given invention enables after rehabilitation with the help of contact lenses to achieve satisfactory restoration of vision quality of patients with an irregular cornea, maintain health of the eye surface and high comfort when wearing contact lenses.
