FIELD: manufacture of new, restoration and increasing useful life period of worn parts operating in condition of abrasive and percussion-abrasive wear.

SUBSTANCE: rationally alloyed composition material is prepared by mixing powders of initial components, sintering them, further grinding of produced cakes and screening them by fraction sizes. Such compositions provide possibility for surfacing metal with structure of stable (nickel) or meta-stable ( manganese) austenite strengthened by initial particles of titanium carbide, by grains of titanium carbide alloyed with molybdenum and vanadium carbide grains or by grains of vanadium carbide and carbide such as M6C (Fe, Mo, Mn)6C ( up to 20 - 22 vol.%) having multi-modal distribution by sizes in volume of strengthened layer. Multi-modal distribution of strengthening phase (TiC and M6C) is achieved by combining operation of electron-beam surfacing and aging.

EFFECT: improved plasticity and resistance against percussion-abrasive wear along the whole thickness of strengthened layer.
