FIELD: industrial inorganic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: naturally occurring clayey mineral, kaolin, is mixed with silicon dioxide and wood flour. To resulting mixture, 5-15% of calcined powdered kaolin, 5-20% of X-type zeolite powder, and sodium chloride are added, after which mixture is stirred. Then lignosulfonate solution is added at stirring until homogeneous plastic mass is formed, which is granulated, dried, and thermally activated. Resulting amorphous granules are cooled and subjected to hydrothermal crystallization in alkali solution. Thus obtained zeolite is treated with live steam, rinsed with water, and dried to yield mechanically strong X-type zeolite.
EFFECT: increased adsorption capacity.
