FIELD: sorbents. SUBSTANCE: binder-free faujasite is prepared by mixing kaolin with silica and charcoal, adding 30-70% of powder faujasite, treating mixture with sodium hydroxide solution, adding polyvinyl alcohol solution to form homogeneous plastic paste, which is granulated, ripened, subjected to finishing molding, twice dried, and thermally activated. Thus obtained amorphous granules are cooled, subjected to hydrothermal crystallization in alkali solution, then to heat-steam treatment of granules, and the latter are washed with softened water and dried. Adsorbent is efficient as ion-exchange material for removing metal cations and radionuclides from water currents. EFFECT: optimized preparation procedure. 1 tbl, 9 ex
