FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rotary machine to which higher requirements as to high speed and possibility of multiple starts (stops) are imposed. Proposed combination axle support contains housing with fitted-in antifriction bearing and thrust sliding bearing made in form of step bearing with multi wedge surface. step bearing is installed in housing for axial displacement on elastic damping members in form of pack of shaped section steel rings.
EFFECT: increased service life and improved reliability of "rotor-support" system by reducing total level of vibrations and dynamic loads in supports of rotary machines.
