FIELD: electrical engineering; self-compressing and self-generating sulfur hexafluoride gas filled circuit breakers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed arc-control device characterized in optimal parameters concerned with reduced mass and length of its movable contacts and power capacity of circuit-breaker operating mechanism has arcing and main contacts, set of main- and arcing-contact shields, and high-voltage bushing with metal flange for attaching to grounded metal tank; metal flange has shield in inner cavity of high-voltage bushing. Following condition is satisfied in OFF-position of device: L1 > L2 > L3, where L1 is final gas-filled gap between arcing contacts; L2 is gas-filled gap between main movable and fixed contacts; L3 is gas-filled gap between external end of main movable contact shield and internal end of metal flange shield in internal cavity of high-voltage bushing.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of circuit breaker disconnection due to choice of optimal parameters for its arc-control device.
