FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method implies precipitation of Cu (I) iodide from nitric acid solution containing copper and nickel-63, in acidity range of 1 · 10-5 - 3 mol/l, by adding excess amount of an alkali metal iodide and sulphite mixture. Precipitate is isolated from mother liquor and washed, mother liquor and washing solution are combined, to the resulting solution ammonia is added, and nickel is precipitated from the ammonia solution by adding an alkali metal iodide or ammonium iodide.
EFFECT: improvement in degree of purification.
