FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of preparation to the start is include the bottom heating and burning of joints by outside heat source, the backing to the bottom protection layer, consisted of salts mixture. The protection layer consists of mixture of flotation and regeneration cryolite (90-95 weight percent) with calcium carbonate (5-10 weight percent), and protection layer is backed before burning to peripheral joint of cell bottom. The presence of calcium carbonate in the mixture is led to diminution of aluminium fluoride containing and calcium fluoride exceeding in postinitial phase.
EFFECT: it is provided the optimal warming-up of cathode device of the aluminium cell due to covering of peripheral joint of cell bottom with of mixture of flotation and regeneration cryolite with calcium carbonate.
