Reduced cell voltage to an operating one is carried out simultaneously with a decrease in the level of the electrolyte and increase in the aluminium level in the cell and the level of total aluminium and electrolyte in the electrolytic cell is maintained between 91 and 99% of the mine depth.
EFFECT: reduced duration and power consumption of the electrolyser start-up period.
