FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: measured laser coagulation of the conjunctival and scleral vessels is performed in the area of anti-glaucomatous surgery. The coagulation is performed through the conjunctiva and sclera, starting from the scleral vessels, then conjunctival vessels with coagulating each vessel separately. First, the coagulation of vessels of 0.5 to 0.8 mm diameter is performed, then, the vessels of 0.01 to 0.49 mm diameter is performed. 1 to 20 coagulates are applied upon each vessel. The vessels are coagulated immediately in the area of previous surgery inside the circle of 8-12 mm diameter. The number of coagulated vessels is within 20 to 100% of the total number of vessels inside the above mentioned circle. The maximal power in shot is 60 to 980 milliwatt. Shot duration is 0.05 to 1 sec. The spot of confusion is 50 to 500 mcm. The laser wave length is 510-540 nm or 650-870 nm. The number of shots is 45 to 930. The vessel coagulation is performed in 1-7 sessions.
EFFECT: trauma of eye tissues is reduced and treatment efficiency is increased.
