FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: method for inspecting minerals comprises delivering mineral material into a registration zone, exposure of a piece of rock to continuous microwave radiation, which is modulated in frequency, and registration of an echo returned from said rock, determination of the standing-wave ratio and grading the minerals upon the results of comparing a registered standing-wave ratio with a specified value of the standing-wave ratio.
EFFECT: enhancement of the quality and rate of minerals grading by means of piece-by-piece inspection of the ore in order to collect data on the availability of a commercial component in the piece of rock.
