SUBSTANCE: hacksaw with a flexible shaft comprises hacksaw blade, crank gear to provide a reciprocal movement of the hacksaw blade, and drive with a flexible drive shaft. The hacksaw is equipped with a device to alter a runway length of the hacksaw blade. The drive shaft consists of a flexible armor and core, at that the armor is completed on its both ends with assembling units meant to be connected to the drive and hacksaw cases. A creeping safety clutch or a frictional single-step planetary reducer with three rollers is installed between the flexible drive shaft and the crank mechanism to limit the torque, at that one of the rollers of the planetary reducer is made spring loaded.
