FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: before starting the check, the ultrasonic flaw detector is set to a velocity of ultrasonic oscillation propagation corresponding to the velocity of ultrasonic oscillation propagation in the substance where dissolving is performed; for this purpose, a solvent sample is taken, the measuring unit is placed in the sample, and, by varying the value of oscillation propagation velocity on the detector, reading is taken showing the distance between the emitting surface of the ultrasonic transducer and the reflector (L0), the measuring unit is placed between the emitting surface of the ultrasonic transducer and the reflector (L), after which concentration of the solution is determined by the formula: where P0 is specific weight of dissolved substance, g/l; L0 is the distance between the emitting surface of the ultrasonic transducer and the reflector, mm; L is the distance between the emitting surface of the ultrasonic transducer and the reflector by indications of the ultrasonic flaw detector, mm.
