FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: use of ultrasonic flaw detector transducer of ultrasonic antenna array for selection of path of ultrasonic wave in prism, angle and boom of prism. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that using the flaw detector measurements, which emits ultrasonic signals using a plurality of elements of the antenna array into a tuning sample with a known ultrasound speed and known thickness and receiving ultrasonic signals, reflected from the reflectors of the adjustment sample, having known geometric dimensions and position relative to the prism, allowing to calculate the theoretical position of the maximum amplitude of the signal from said reflectors, wherein the path in the prism, angle of inclination and boom of prism are selected by calculated minimization of sum by combinations of prism location and selected reflector of adjustment sample of squares of differences between calculated coordinates of image amplitude maxima, calculated based on the position of the image amplitude maxima measured by the flaw detector at the path in the prism previously entered into the flaw detector, the angle of inclination and the boom of the prism and the theoretical coordinates of the image amplitude maxima.

EFFECT: possibility of reducing errors in determining coordinates of maximum amplitude of signal of reflectors when using an ultrasonic echo-pulse flaw detector using phased array technology.
