FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used for measurement of liquids level in closed reservoirs. In the liquid level measurement method, consisting in the probing acoustic pulse emitting and the reflected signal reception from the media partition, measured is the propagation time of the acoustic wave emitted by the reversible ultrasonic transducer (radiator-receiver), which is set at a given (reference) L0 distance from liquid level measurement upper limit, to interface of media and back (main reflected signal T1), and acoustic wave propagation time along the path: emitter, media section, tank top overlapping, back to media section and to ultrasonic transducer (re-reflected signal T2), calculating the measured liquid level Lx from formula
where R is distance from sensor installation point to tank wall of tank.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring level.
