FIELD: communications.

SUBSTANCE: to determine speed set for data flow set transmitted to multichannel communication system transmission channel set is identified to use with every data flow. Within each group equivalent system is determined for transmission channels on basis of one or several transmission channel characteristics. Then metric of each group is introduced on basis of equivalent system, for example signal-noise ratio (SNR) set required for equivalent system to maintain mean spectral activity. Each data flow speed is determined on basis of metric connected to data flow. Speed is accepted to be supported by communication system if SNR required to support data flow speed by communication system is less or equal to metric.

EFFECT: improvement of data flow efficiency within such multichannel communication systems as, for example, MIMO-OFDM.
