FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to devices providing safety of operation of lifts. A suggested lifting device has at least one shaft where at least two lift cars are installed with a possibility to move along the common path; the said device is equipped with a shaft data system to determine location and speed of cars; at that this system is connected to electric safety device. An urgent stop of one of the cars is achieved by means of the safety device independently of car control units if a distance from the said car to a neighbouring one or to the end of the path is less than a specified critical distance. There is also foreseen the possibility to activate a catch of one of the cars, if a distance from this car to the neighbour one or to the end of the path of the movement is less than a specified minimum allowed distance. The control units of at least all cabins located in one path of movement are interconnected thus forming a cluster control unit.
EFFECT: suggested lift installation is characterized by higher efficiency with guaranteed prevention of cars collision.
