FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: said invention relates to automation, in particular, to checking and setup of smoke detectors for early detection of solid polymer materials inflammation. Common method for smoke detectors checking implies selection of polymer, which is most frequently used as an electrical isolator. The specimen weight is calculated according to formula where M - polymer speciment weight, mg; G0 - mass concentration of aerosol particles in aerosol chamber (smoke chamber), mg/m3; V - volume of aerosol chamber, m; f - factor of conversion of the polymer specimen weight to aerosol particle weight; 0.8 - factor, which accounts for loss of aerosol particles due to settling onto walls of aerosol chamber and air duct. Device parameters are set to sensitivity, which provides for detector actuation at a certain level of signal corresponding to concentration of aerosol products of polymer thermal decomposition. When required, detector sensitivity is adjusted to achieve its actuation at a certain mass concentration of aerosol products of polymer specimen thermal decomposition.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of check.
