FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device is intended for the use in the nuclear equipment, in reactor plants with liquid metal cooling. In a nuclear power unit containing a reactor with liquid metal lead coolant or its alloys, with the core, steam generators, circulation equipment, and a protection gas system located under the unoccupied level of the protection gas. Field tubes are installed around the core perimeter. The central channels of the Field tubes communicate with the water volume of a tank installed higher than the reactor, through a shutoff and control valve. To the upper part of the tank, air-cooled heat exchanging tubes are connected. The tubes are connected with one another with a top manifold with a safety valve. The top manifold communicates with the external ring channels of the Field tubes.
EFFECT: device will allow to eliminate possibility of reactor core overheating and damage if heat removal from core stops with coolant circulation equipment and steam generator faulty.
