FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device relates to aircraft engine construction. To up the accuracy of milling and to reduce the milled surface roughness the device base is made up of a lower horizontal and an upper inclined plates jointed together by different-height columns and a bracket mounted at the joint between the said plates. The front fixed base centre is fixed on the upper inclined plate, the said centre being made in the form of chucking device incorporating a chuck couple via tie-rod to a hydraulic cylinder linked with the milling machine hydraulic drive. The said chuck body accommodates movable clamping inserts and a support plate to accurately position the blade blank. The said device comprises a turning table to rotate the machined turbine blade fixed at the base upper inclined plate and comes linked by its spindle with the chuck body and the chucking device hydraulic cylinder, respectively. The rear base unit is made as a rear head incorporating a rear centre mounted to axially move in the T-slot made on the base upper inclined plate. The shank extends beyond the rear head end face to ensure a specified force of retaining the rear centre head against the turbine blade head centre hole. The method consists in using a three-axis vertical CNC milling machine with its horizontal table accommodating the device for mounting and fixing the turbine blade to ensure the above said machining results. Milling is effected by a peripheral part of spherical milling cutter in crosswise successive trajectories over the blank sections the length of which makes some 10 to 15 mm. A preliminary milling in 1 to 2 runs is made on a blade section, then the tool is changed to finish-mill the said blade section and to start milling the following 10 to 15 mm long blade section. The jobs are repeated till the last section of the blade blank.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of milling and lower roughness of machined surface.
