FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of purifying industrial sewage water of phenol involves treatment through electro-hydraulic action of a high-voltage short-pulse electrical discharge in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, in quantities sufficient for disintegration of phenol to carbon oxide (IV). Duration of the pulse is 1-10 mcs, voltage of the electrical discharge is 25-30 kV, and the number of impulses is 110-120.
EFFECT: full disintegration of phenol in the sewage water.
