FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention is an efficient heterogeneous photocatalytic Fenton system for neutralisation of organic impurities in sewage water using heterogeneous catalysts, based on powdered or textured perovskite at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The system is used for decomposing acetic acid, methyl-tert-butyl-ether (MTBE), methanol, ethanol, their mixtures and wine production wastes. Organic substances are removed through oxidation to gaseous CO2. The effect of H2O2 concentration and pH is established. Further increase in efficiency of treatment is achieved through dosed supply of H2O2. The heterogeneous photocatalytic Fenton system allows for widening the operating pH range (2-8) compared to a homogeneous system (pH 2-4) without precipitation.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of treatment and widening of the operating range.
