FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the method of obtaining aromatic carbonate. The method involves the stage of obtaining diphenyl carbonate, on which phenol and at least one carbonyl compound are used as the raw materials, and/or a stage for obtaining diphenol A, on which phenol and acetone are used as the raw materials; and a stage for obtaining the aromatic polycarbonate, on which diphenyl carbonate and diphenol A are used as the raw materials, as a result of the polymerisation stage of the aromatic carbonate. The phenol by-product is extracted. It is distinct in that, its water content has mass percentage ratio of 0.2% or less, and the phenol is used as the raw material during the stage of obtaining diphenyl carbonate and/or the stage of obtaining diphenol A. The carbonyl compound is in form of phosgene, carbon monoxide or dialkylcarbonate.

EFFECT: solving the problem of the phenol by-product obtained during the stage of obtaining polycarbonate; efficiency of obtaining aromatic polycarbonate.
