FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the method of making alginate porous moulded articles; products obtained using this method and use of such products. The invention can be used for cosmetic and medical purposes, as cosmetic skin fillers or bandages for wounds. There is also need for obtaining thick homogenous porous layers of alginate, required for making, using a simple method, moulding and/or carving, the corresponding (including orally taken) cosmetic or medical application forms: moulded implants, tablet medication, means of sustained release of active substances or similar substances. The given engineering problem is solved, based on that, the method of obtaining alginate porous articles involves: a) preparation of a water solution of water soluble alginate, b) addition of one or more salts of a polyvalent metal ion with a polydentate complexing anion in a water solution of water soluble alginate, displacement of equilibrium of forming the complex polyvalent metal ion and the polydentate complexing anion with increase in the concentration of the polyvalent metal ion in the alginate solution and formation of an alginate salt as a result, through the polyvalent metal ion, or b2) addition of a polydentate complexing agent for the polyvalent metal ion in a water solution of water soluble alginate and addition of one or more partially water soluble salts of a polyvalent metal ion, c) pouring of a liquid water mixture of alginate into a mould, drying of the alginate water mixture with formation of an alginate containing porous article.

EFFECT: formation of a relatively large-size moulded article with high homogeneity based on bonds between alginates and polyvalent metal ions, which have high rapture strength in wet conditions, which can be cut into thin layers using common cutting equipment, and have a beautiful outer appearance.
