FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention deals with construction of pipelines and may be used when laying pipelines underground in massifs of noncohesive formations or loose soil. To provide for a pipeline crossing under an obstacle there is a churn-drill hole bored with a linear or curvilinear path. A rope is pulled through the churn-drill hole with its end attached to the head section of the shield tunneling assembly equipped with a down-hole unit with a rock-breaking tool. The other end of the rope is attached to the drive mechanism positioned at the opposite side of the obstacle. For excavation of the tunnel, entry way deep, intended for laying the pipeline through the head section of the shield tunneling assembly is employed, pulled by the rope down the churn-drill hole. The tail section of the shield tunneling assembly jointed to the head one so as to provide for eventual axial displacement alongside with the pipeline section attached to it is pulled inside tunnel entry way deep with the help of a hydraulic gear mounted inside the shield tunneling assembly. The entry way depth is equal to the length of travel of the hydraulic cylinders of the tail section driving mechanism.
EFFECT: improves accuracy of the pipeline laying process.
