FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method is provided for ultrasonic location of lining with the reception of low-frequency ultrasonic oscillations (USO) by at least three low-frequency transducers installed at a certain distance from one another on the operating facility enclosure. The pulse reception time and its frequency characteristics are determined using each transducer. After that, the low-frequency USO cross-spectrum containing resonant frequencies of lining layers is extracted and used to determine the coordinates of lining layer borders and thicknesses, taking into account the physical properties of the lining materials, to form its topography.
EFFECT: increase in accuracy of lining wear diagnostics in metallurgical facilities due to enhancement of measurement reliability.
