FIELD: radio location.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in radiation of measurement object, measurement of circular graph of measurement object, which is installed on rotating platform, by power, its orientation with minimum of efficient scattering area (ESA) graph to RLS, placement on additional rotation device in pulse volume of RLS between the rotating platform and RLS of reference reflector with available ESA, its rotation, determination of maximum of signal reflected from the reference reflector, its displacement in relation to the measurement object at the distance, which is more or equal to the length of wave of radiating signal of RLS, registration of level of vector sum of signals, which are reflected from the object and movable reference reflector, selection of maximum and minimum values of power levels of reflected signals, with the help of which the ESA is determined in the point of measurement object interaction with reference reflector by certain formula and then calculation of ESA of measurement object.

EFFECT: increases accuracy of ESA measurement at the account of ESA graph calibration by reference reflector.
