FIELD: physics, nuclear.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the nuclear physics and medicine and may be used in neutron sources based on charged particle accelerators. The neutron-producing target assembly contains a target made of an active material, on which the nuclear reaction is performed, and a target displacement device for target displacement relative to the flow of charged particles aimed at the target. The target is designed as a flexible tape, and the device for target displacement relative to the flow of charged particles is designed as a tape feed mechanism. The tape feed mechanism is designed as two feed and takeup reels with tape guide rollers. The application of the invention will allow to develop simple and compact accelerating installations for neutron therapy directly in oncological clinics and centres.
EFFECT: possibility to develop simple and compact accelerating installations for neutron therapy in oncological centres.
