FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: nuclear reactor for combustion of transuranic chemical elements contains a subcritical core containing elements subject to combustion and an external source of high energy nucleons. A core consists of micro fuel particles dispersed into a liquid-metal coolant circulating via a closed circuit, to the upper layer of which a beam of high energy nucleons is directed. As nucleons, there used are protons with energy of higher than 800 MeV, the beam of which passes through a sweep unit, at the output of which the beam angle equals to more than 45°.
EFFECT: simplifying the design; improving reactor output.
