HYDROPHILIC THERMOREVERSIBLE PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC C09J179/00 C09J9/00 C09J139/06 A61L15/58

Abstract RU 2627896 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrophilic thermoreversible pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) compositions and can be used as a biomedical adhesive for application to the skin and in the field of drug delivery systems, medical skin coatings and wound healing products that are easily and painlessly removed from the skin surface in a warm bath. The composition consists of hydrophilic film-forming polymer having a lower critical mixing temperature (LCMT) and complementary short-chain non-covalent oligomeric crosslinker of the film-forming LCMT-polymer. The hydrophilic polymer and oligomeric crosslinker are capable of hydrogen bonding to each other and are contained in the ratio that determines such characteristics of the composition as adhesion bond strength, cohesive strength, and hydrophilicity. At room temperature in the aqueous medium, the adhesive shows tack to the hydrophilic substrates and reversibly detaches from them when the temperature rises above the LCMT. The adhesive does not exhibit tackiness to hydrophobic substrates at ordinary temperature, but acquires it in aqueous medium when the temperature rises above the LCMT. The transition from non-tacky to sticky state is controlled by the temperature and amount of absorbed moisture. It is completely reversible.

EFFECT: improvement of composition properties.
