FIELD: crystallography.

SUBSTANCE: cellulose carrier is soaked with ZnO-precursor - water solution of zinc salt of organic acid, and then the carrier is exposed to high temperature pyrolysis, at that as cellulose carrier deashed paper filter white tape is used with ash mass of 0.005-0.15 mass %. High temperature pyrolysis is performed in stages, at first the filter that is soaked with ZnO-precursor is heated up to preset temperature in temperature range of 500-1150°C, providing the heating with temperature gradient of 3.7-4.4°C/min. In the process of heating the carrier is blown with air. After achievement of preset temperature the heating is interrupted and maintained in isothermal mode for 10-60 minutes, and then cooled down to room temperature. As ZnO-precursor water solution of zinc acetate Zn(CH3COO)2 • 2H2O is used or water solution of pelargonic acid Zn[CH3(CH2)7COO]2 with zinc concentration of 10-70 g/l.

EFFECT: low-sized powders on the basis of zinc oxide provide low-threshold laser generation of ultraviolet radiation at room temperature.
