FIELD: nanotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for obtaining photocatalysts based on heterostructures for the decomposition of substances that pollute air and water, and can be used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biosynthetic industries. The method lies in the fact that using the sol-gel technology, a heterostructure is formed from metal oxides within the framework of a one-stage synthesis. At the same time, to obtain zinc oxide in the form of a hierarchical structure, on the branches of which Cu2O and CuO nanocrystals are located, the atomic content of copper is 0.15 at.%, the annealing temperature in air is 600°C, annealing time 30 min.
EFFECT: due to the formation of a photocatalyst in the form of a ZnO/Cu2O-CuO heterostructure, the photocatalytic activity increases.
