FIELD: physics; measurements.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to vibration (coriolis) gyroscopes. In the method of compensating for transverse displacement in the coriolis gyroscope, the resonator (1) which is in the form of a coupled system, consists of primary and secondary linear oscillators (3, 4). The transverse displacement of the coriolis gyroscope is determined. An electrostatic field is generated through changing the mutual orientation of both oscillators (3, 4) relative each other. In that case, the orientation/intensity of the electrostatic field is regulated such that, the measured transverse displacement is minimum. This allows reducing errors in orientation of the oscillators relative each other.

EFFECT: possibility of compensating for transverse displacement in a coriolis gyroscope.
